Open Board Member Positions
Community Engagement Liaison
Role: The Community Engagement Liaison shall lead all efforts in curating and overseeing programming aimed at promoting the connectivity and engagement of our chapter with our surrounding community.
Responsibilities:
Curate and oversee quarterly volunteer events for general members
Build and manage a project team for the Seattle Design Festival in partnership w/ a local organization that will serve as the second home to the installation
Foster relationships with Chapter-allied community organizations/partners
Maintain a comprehensive calendar of all event dates and deadlines
Coordinate w/ Membership Engagement Committee on opportunities for events/initiatives to overlap
Work proactively to ensure adequate time for planning and marketing of all events and initiatives
Time Commitment / Accountability:
Approximately 3-4 hrs per month, with highs of 16-20hrs/mo for July-Aug in preparation for the Seattle Design Festival:
Attendance to volunteer events and the Seattle Design Festival
Monthly Board Meeting – 1.5 hrs In-person (virtual available when needed)
Quarterly Open Chapter Meetings (2 hrs In-Person)
Annual Board Retreat – One weekend in November (Fri-Sun, In-Person)
Shall report directly to the Executive Board
Qualifications:
Excels in time management and organization to plan proactively and meet deadlines
Excels in project management and team building
Experienced in event planning and developing professional relationships across industries
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent collaborative and organizational skills while also being a self-starter
