Open Board Member Positions

 

Project Pipeline Co-Chair

Role: Co-lead all programming and development of our Annual Project Pipeline Camp that introduces BIPOC youth to architecture and urban design. Our mission is to empower young people to affect change in their communities through design.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a curriculum guided by the NOMA National Standard that will introduce students to the concepts and impact of architecture and urban design. 

  • Generate hyper local programming that will engage students to better understand their surroundings and spark curiosity of the design of the built environment. 

  • Co-lead marketing strategy with other committees to maximize sponsorship and enrollment 

  • Develop and co-lead all training efforts of full-time/part-time camp volunteers 

Time Commitment / Accountability:

  • Approximately 6-8 hrs per month, with highs/lows depending on season 

    • Attendance to Annual Project Pipeline Camp (Tue-Sat in July, exact date TBD) 

    • Monthly Board Meeting – 1.5 hrs In-person (virtual available when needed) 

    • Monthly Project Pipeline Committee Check Ins – Est. 1 hour/mo (subject to committee schedule agreements) 

    • Quarterly Open Chapter Meetings (2 hrs In-Person) 

    • Annual Board Retreat – One weekend in November (Fri-Sun, In-Person) 

  • Shall be directly accountable to fellow Project Pipeline Co-Chairs; then to the Executive Board 

Qualifications:

  • Current student/professional within Architecture, or an adjacent relevant field  

  • Strong leadership skills with prior experience in developing programming for BIPOC youth  

  • Excellent collaborative and organizational skills while also being a self-starter  

  • Excellent communicator that can relate to parents and students of diverse backgrounds  

  • Ability to be a role model for students and lead with a positive, patient, and enthusiastic attitude
