Board Member Positions

 

Social Chair/Co-Chair

Role: The Social Chair shall lead all efforts in curating and overseeing events and initiatives aimed at promoting the connectivity and engagement of the general members. This role will work under the direction of the Membership Engagement Liaison.

Responsibilities:

  • Curate and oversee events and initiatives for general members, including but not limited to: 

    • Open Chapter Meetings 

    • Chapter Happy Hours 

    • Holiday/Seasonal Parties 

    • Chapter Outings 

  • Coordinate w/ the Professional Development chair on opportunities for events/initiatives to overlap 

  • Work closely w/ allied organizations for external networking opportunities 

  • Maintain a comprehensive calendar of all event dates and deadlines 

  • Work proactively to ensure adequate time for planning and marketing of all events and initiatives 

Time Commitment / Accountability:

  • Approximately 4-6 hrs per month, with highs/lows depending on season 

    • Attendance to all programmed social events 

    • Monthly Board Meeting – 1.5 hrs In-person (virtual available when needed) 

    • Monthly Member Engagement Committee Check Ins – Est. 1 hour/mo (subject to committee schedule agreements) 

    • Quarterly Open Chapter Meetings (2 hrs In-Person) 

    • Annual Board Retreat – One weekend in November (Fri-Sun, In-Person) 

  • Shall report directly to the Membership Engagement Liaison 

Qualifications:

  • Excels in time management and organization to plan proactively and meet deadlines 

  • Experienced in event planning and developing professional relationships 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
